Do you knit and crochet or just absolutely adore fiber?  If this describes you, then October 14 is your day to tell the world.  Celebrate I Love Yarn Day along with the Craft Yarn Council this October.  Whether you knit it, crochet it, wear it, post it, tweet it, carry it, share it, give it, or bomb it, you will join fiber enthusiasts around the nation who love yarn just as much as you do!  And by spreading the word about how amazing fiber can be, you might even inspire another knitter or crocheter or two!

Can’t decide how to show your yarn love?  The Craft yarn Council has some great ideas on their website, ILoveYarn.org.  Here are a few of them:

  •     Create an I Love Day Yarn badge
  •     Teach someone to knit or crochet
  •     Do something for charity
  •     Wear a knitted or crocheted item
  •     Give a gift of yarn
  •     Take your yarn to work day
  •     Host a yarn-a-bration party
  •     Knit, crochet and craft in public

We also have several easy knitting and crochet patterns on AllFreeKnitting and AllFreeCrochet that would be great to make and wear on I Love Yarn Day.  Don’t miss a couple of our favorites below!

Boy doesn’t this look fun?! I will celebrate by doing quite a few things on that list! I have just started a non-profit organization called Hooked On Hope Organization that I using to spread the love of Jesus while I donate hand-made items (and other donations) to families in need or to ill people. I am sponsoring a family now that lost everything in a house fire. This is an exciting chance to celebrate!

My granddaughter was here last night & I gave her the “potato chip scarf”. She asked me to show her how to knit! She is nearly 7, so we had a quick knit stitch lesson. She loved the yarn we were using & wanted a hat, so that’s what I’ll be doing.

I love to crochet for charities and selling – we are having a bazaar this Friday the 14th so I will be celebrating I LOVE YARN day by selling my finished items at our annual ‘Girls Just Want To Have Fun’ fundraiser – it is so much fun and we help raise money for our childrens Christian school 😉

hope you all have a wonderful blessed day – happy crocheting!!!
