Costumes, fatty foods, and beads galore can only mean one thing–it’s Mardi Gras time! The Carnival celebrations have begun, and Fat Tuesday is less than a week away. Though I don’t usually engage in any Mardi Gras celebrations myself, it’s always fun to see the bright colors, the masks, the feathers, and of course, the beads! Unfortunately, acquiring these beads comes at a certain shame-inducing price (I think you know what I’m talking about)… Well hold on to your morals, beaders! We’ve gathered some fun Mardi Gras themed beaded jewelry projects so you can participate in all the Mardi Gras celebrations while keeping your clothes on! We’re sure your mothers would thank us.
Purple, Green, and Gold Jewelry-Making Designs
The colors purple, green, and gold scream Mardi Gras. They’re bright, playful, and joyous–just like the Carnival celebrations themselves. Each color symbolizes something different, so make a piece of jewelry in each color and wear them all at once to get the full Mardi Gras effect!

Strand Necklace Designs
OK, so maybe you still want the Mardi Gras “party animal” look minus the degradation. You can still get the fun effect of the long, layered strand necklaces with these festive beaded necklace designs. Wear one on its own or layer a bunch of them (depending on how “wild” you want to get). They look great either way!

Beaded Jewelry Projects for Party Time!
Above all, Mardi Gras is a time of celebration. Everyone is feeling festive and ready to party! Even if you won’t be in New Orleans for all the fun and festivities, you can still participate in Mardi Gras parties wherever you are. These “party time” projects show that you’re ready to have a good time. These are good for any celebratory occasion.
So, will you be celebrating Mardi Gras?
