Don't throw away your Christmas tree trimmings, reuse them for this Christmas craft. Using boughs and burnt out tree lights you can have this door decoration to give as a gift or keep it for yourself.

Materials:

  • Bough trimmings from your christmas tree
  • Old burnt out colored bulbs
  • The hook hangers that you use to hang bulbs on the tree
  • A few pieces of ribbon, wide and thin

  1. After trimming the bottom of your christmas tree, gather 2 or 3 of the boughs and tie together with a few pieces of ribbon, so that they are secure at the bottom and at the top.

  2. Take a piece of wide ribbon and wrap the bottom stems of the branch bunch, making a nicely wrapped end, secure with glue, hot or Elmers.

  3. Take your old colored bulbs and wrap the hook wire around each metal end then create a hook and hang on the branches you've just put together. Put as many colored bulbs on as you like, even and a few red bows, or other small ornaments.

  4. I hang this on a wreath holder, the ribbon that I used to tie the branches together works well to hang on the wreath holder.

Tip: A little bonus is to put a few drops of essential oil on the door decoration, everytime you open and close the door, the aroma fills the area.
