Materials:

  • Marvy® Light Blue paper from the Wafu Gami Two Sided Metallic, shades of Lavendar/Blue crafting bundle.
  • Black card stock
  • Truly, madly, deeply and Bride and Groom rubber stamps by A Muse®
  • Permanent Mono Adhesive by Tombo®
  • Continuous glue lines by Glue Dots International®
  • Black velvet ribbon by Creative impressions
  • Marvy® WetLooks Black
  • Clear embossing powder by Stewart Superior®
  • Marvy® Embossing Heat tool
  • Ultramarine StazOn by Tsukineko®
  • Scotch® Mounting Tape 110
  • Prisma Glitter by Stewart Superior®
  • Marvy® Cassette Craft Punch 1/4" circle punch
  • Spiral bound journal from Target®
  • Marvy® Squishy scissors
  • Marvy® Squishy scissors

Steps:

All measurements are in inches.

  1. Heavily apply Mono adhesive to the front cover of the journal and adhere the Light Blue paper to it with the shiny side showing. If there is a pen holder or button to work around, snip a small area to facilitate this so that the paper will lay smooth. Try to choose a journal that has a natural decorative border such as this one.

  2. Ink Rubber stamp images with Marvy® WetLooks Black and stamp onto the journal front as shown. Sprinkle with clear embossing powder and heat set with heat tool.

  3. Fold over the edges of the Light Blue paper and adhere to the inside cover with Mono Adhesive. Repeat steps 1 and 2 for the back cover.

  4. Apply continuous glue lines to the back of the velvet ribbon and adhere to the seam of the paper and journal making sure to overlap the ribbon to the back of the cover.

  5. Trim 2 pieces of black card stock 1/4 inches smaller than the journal cover and adhere to the insides of the journal covers with Continuous glue lines on the edges. This stronger adhesive is needed for heavier card stock and durability.

  6. If a pen is included with your journal trim a piece of Light Blue paper the exact length of the pen but slightly wider in circumference. Apply Mono adhesive to the back of the paper and adhere to the pen making sure to place adhesive on the end of the paper. This will help create a seamless effect.
