The multi-colored Swarovski crystal beads in this jewelry project from Katie Hacker make this choker perfect for a party or special occasion.

Materials:

  • 68 in. length - Beadalon 19 Strand satin silver .018 in. stringing wire
  • 30 - 6mm Metallic blue Swarovski crystal bicone beads
  • 20 - 8mm Olivine Swarovski crystal bicone beads
  • 9 - 5x11mm Padparadscha Swarovski crystal briolettes
  • 10 - 5mm Indicolite Swarovski crystal bicone beads
  • 10 - 5mm Pacific opal Swarovski crystal round faceted beads
  • 18 - 3mm Silver round beads
  • 40 - 1.3mm Size #1 Crimp beads
  • 1 - Designer design sterling silver crimp hook & eye clasp
  • Designer flush cutter
  • Designer chain nose pliers
  • Designer crimper
  • BeadFix glue

Steps:

  1. Cut three 16 in. lengths of Beadalon 19 Strand satin silver wire. Cut ten 1 1/2 to 2 in. lengths.

  2. Hold the 16 in. wires together as one. Place one end inside half of the crimp clasp. Use chain nose pliers to squeeze the center to fix the wires in place.

  3. Holding the wires together, string an olivine bead.

  4. String a Pacific opal bead onto one wire, an indicolite bead onto one wire, and a crimp bead, metallic blue bead and another crimp bead onto the third wire.

  5. Holding the wires together, string an olivine bead, a silver bead, a padpardscha briolette, a silver bead and another olivine bead.

  6. Repeat steps 4 and 5 eight more times.

  7. Repeat step 4 once more, then holding the wires together, string an olivine bead and attach half of the crimp clasp to the wire ends.

  8. Place a 1 1/2 to 2 in. length of wire through a crimp beads/metallic blue bead unit on the necklace. Crimp the crimp beads to hold the wire in place.

  9. String a metallic blue bead and a crimp bead onto one end of the wire. Crimp it. Repeat for the other end of the wire.

  10. Repeat Steps 8 and 9 to attach a short beaded wire to each crimp bead/metallic blue bead unit on the necklace. Optional: If you want the metallic blue beads to stay fixed at the end of each dangle, add a drop of Beadfix glue inside each bead.
