Beaded Pirate Zipper Pull

With a couple beads and some wire, you can create a cool accent for a fall wearable. A Beaded Pirate Zipper Pull from Candace Jedrowicz adds a fun and unexpected dimension to a kids' jacket. With bead craft ideas like this, you'll never pick up the wrong coat!

Materials:

  • Skull bead
  • Metal charm
  • Accent bead with a hole large enough to fit 2 wires through
  • 20 gauge wire
  • Lanyard clip
  • Round nose pliers
  • Chain nose pliers

Instructions:

  1. Cut a 5″ piece of wire. Bend 1 1/2″  around the round nose pliers.
     
  2. Create a loop by pinching the wire on the other side of the bend.

  3. Slide the metal charm onto the loop.

  4. Slide a bead over both ends of the wire.

  5. Bend the short wire tail down and wrap is around the long wire tail 2 or 3 times.Trim off the excess.

  6. Slide the skull bead on the wire.

  7. Grab the wire with the round nose pliers just above the skull bead and wrap it around the pliers.

  8. Continue holding the wire with the pliers and wrap the tail around between the pliers and skull bead 2-3 times. Trim excess wire.

  9. Slide the loop onto the lanyard and crimp the lanyard slightly with the chain nose pliers to secure the dangle.
