Straight from the $5 bin at the local clearance store (originally priced at $50), this old clock from Amy Anderson was rescued and easily transformed! Though the squares were supposed to hold photos, the 12 openings are a great platform to mix and match coordinating scrapbooking papers.

Hip to be Square Clock

Materials:

  • Clock
  • Mod Podge Gloss
  • Scrapbook paper, 6 sheets of coordinating – I used the Crate Paper Brook collection
  • Adhesive numbers – mine are Basic Grey
  • Spray paint, brown
  • Painter’s tape and a sheet of paper
  • Scissors

Instructions:

  1. Remove all of the hardware and the backs of the clock frames. Use the painter’s tape and a sheet of paper to tape off the center of the clock so you don’t get any paint on it. Proceed to spray paint the frame of the clock. Spray the frame until it’s completely covered.

  2. Cut the scrapbook paper in small pieces to fit each of the windows of your clock frame. I used the backs of the frames as the templates to cut my paper.

  3. Mod Podge the pieces of scrapbook paper to the backs of the frames and allow to dry for 15 – 20 minutes. Once dry, Mod Podge over the top to seal. Reinsert the frames back into the clock.

  4. Adhere the numbers to the clock frames as shown; if the numbers are non-adhesive, use craft glue.

  5. Allow project to dry for 24 hours before using.
