Hair Scrunchie Trees

Use those old hair scrunchies to make a different kind of craft. Make a tree out of old hair products. This makes for great crafting with kids projects.

Materials:

  • STYROFOAM* Brand Products:
    • 2- 9" Cone
  • Wooden skewer
  • Thick, white craft glue
  • 2 Fabric, 12" square
  • Stiff brush
  • Metallic chenille stem

Steps:

  1. Insert wooden skewer into the bottom of the cone; this will serve as your handle. Brush a thin layer of glue over entire cone, except for bottom. Wrap square of fabric around cone, gluing over lapping ends. Ignore fabric point at the top of the cone. Trim away all but 1" of fabric around bottom of cone; glue excess fabric to bottom of cone. Remove skewer.

  2. Using skewer, push fabric point at the top of the cone into the cone. Place glue on ends of chenille stem and insert ends into hole. Shape chenille stem into desired decoration (we made a heart and a star).

  3. Place scrunchies on the cone, with larger sizes at the base and smaller sizes at the top.
