Teddy Bear Wrapping Paper Sculpture

By:

You know you can use it to cover your gifts, but have you ever considered making crafts from wrapping paper? Make a small present stand out with a Teddy Bear Wrapping Paper Sculpture from Candace Jedrowicz. It's a fun way to turn a little something into a big statement.

Materials:

  • Aleene’s Tacky Dot Roll
  • A small gift
  • Wrapping paper
  • Newspaper – lots of it
  • Tape
  • Finishing items – ribbon, buttons, gems, etc.

Instructions:

  1. This is a tiny gift in a tiny box, but your gift doesn’t have to be this small. You can wrap anything if you have enough paper!

  2. This gift will be in the heart that the teddy bear holds, but think about the size and shape of your gift. Would it fit in the head or maybe in the body?

  3. It’s just this easy! Make two tear shapes and sandwich the gift between them.

  4. Wrap the heart in red paper. One side will face the front, so tape all you need on the back side.

  5. Think of the teddy bear as an arrangement of parts. Make an oblong body and a round head.Shape a point on the front head to help make the nose.

  6. The arms should be cylinder shaped. The legs will be drum stick shaped. The larger end of the drum stick should be flat to allow for a large area of attachment to the body. Wrap each piece with wrapping paper before joining.

  7. Fold wrapping paper to create ears. Tape to hold in place.

  8. Begin attaching the pieces with Aleene’s Tacky Dots – plenty of them. They’re very sticky and you’ll need that stickiness to keep your sculpture together when it’s moved.

  9. Attach the heart to the hands with more Aleene’s Tacky Dots.

  10. Tie a ribbon around the neck.

  11. Add button and gem eyes using more Aleene’s Glue Dots. I love the different size eyes, but experiment until you have the look you want.
