Decorative Cameo Fan

You can easily craft this decorative cameo fan with the elegance and fantasy embossing board. Use it as a decoration for your home or for a party, create it into a card or party invitation, or work on it with your kids.

Materials:

• Elegance & Fantasy Embossing Board
• 6mm Embossing Tool
• Background Paper
• 2 Sheet Of Letter Size Card
• Top Score Scoreboard (And Scorer)
• Small Cameo Pictures
• Paper Flowers
• Adhesive
• Drier Cloth Or Candle

Step 1

To make the card:
Cut a piece of lettersize cardstock down to measure 6” x 8 ½”. Lay this face down on the board and butt the top and sides of the card up to the top of the fan shape. Rub the wrong side of the card with the drier cloth or candle; this helps the embossing tool to glide smoothly. Place your tool in one of the leading channels and emboss around the shape.

Step 2

On this board there are 3 leading channels into the fan, one from the bottom of the board one from the left which forms the
outline of the fan and one from the right midway down the board which forms the inside detail of the fan. Take your embossing tool and push into the leading channel on the left of the board and pull the tool towards you. When you feel resistance it means the direction of thechannel has changed.

Step 3

Feel your way with the tool until you locate the direction of the channel and follow it pushing the tool into the channel firmly.
When you come back to the place you started move the ball tool to the right hand side channel and work your way around
then locate the tool into the bottom channel and work the tool into the channel until the design is complete.

Step 4

Carefully cut around the outside of the embossed fan shape and leave to one side. Take another piece of cardstock and emboss just the inner details of the fan using the leading channel on the right hand side. Once again cut around the embossed area. Take a piece of background paper and emboss the inner design of the fan again. This time cut inside the embossed area into individual panels to fit over the top of the fan blades.

Step 5

Glue the background papers into place then mount the whole piece onto the main fan. Cut out the Cameos mat onto antique
gold die-cut card ovals. Glue the mounted Cameos onto the fan blades then embellish with paper flowers around the fan and finish off with a bow. You may wish to mount the whole fan onto a piece of cardstock folded in half or leave it just as it as shown here.
