Scarves aren't just for fall and winter -- a lace-trimmed linen scarf is the perfect accessory for warmer weather. If you want to add a touch of color to your summer fashion, this easy-to-make scarf from Jenya of MyEvaForeva fits the bill.

Materials:

  • Good quality pure linen, 1-1/2 to 2 yds. x 50" to 60" wide
  • Flat lace, 2-7/8 to 3-3/8 yds.
  • Sewing machine
  • Serger (optional)
  • Thread
  • Scissors

Steps:

  1. Serge the shorter edges and use a fancy picot edging stitch on longer sides. If you don't have a serger you can use your sewing machine and do a running stitch on a narrow folded edge.

  2. Attach the lace to your shorter edges using a sewing machine. To secure exposed sides of the lace trim I just used a zig-zag stitch.

  3. Now submerge the whole scarf in cool water and them squeeze the water out. Let the scarf dry a bit. When it's still slightly wet twist it really well like shown below and let it dry completely. Once it's dry, open it up and give it a good shake.
