Keep Paper Scraps

Organizing Paper Scraps by Ruslana Zitserman , Kent Ridge, Singapore

If you work a lot with colored wrapping paper (origami, paper covered boxes and picture frames, etc), don't throw out the leftover paper scraps; they might be useful for your next project. If you are afraid that your workplace will soon be covered by a heap of paper, do the following: put all matching scraps into a plain envelope and glue a one piece to the front. This way you will know what's inside without opening the envelope. Then you can organize all the envelopes in hanging files or simply arrange them in a box.

Apr 27, 2013

thats a great idea! I saved tiny pieces for a bit for confetti, but thats about it, the rest usually gets vacuumed unless its "usable"

That is a great idea. I also have scraps of watercolor papers, paintings that "failed". I use them for collage. That means I can sort them like the scrapbooking papers!! What a neat idea! Thanks.

I use an accordian file folder that I got at Staples. (I acutally use 2 of them.)I keep them right next to my large Fiskars cutter. This works well for me.

I use the ziploc type bags also and find this the most useful. I can just glance at the bags to see what I have or what I need. :-)
