A Charming Christmas Quilt



This lovely quilt pattern from Victoriana Quilt Designs is great for those who love to decorate for Christmas.  Made using a simple block formation, this charming quilt is great for beginners and those who are interested in experimenting with quilting patterns.  You could even use this pattern to create a quilt that has any theme you'd like.  Great for country decor or perfect for those who love to curl up by the fireplace, this simple quilt design is fun and easy to make.

Charming Quilt

Materials (for each block--repeat for as many blocks as you like):
Finished block size:  6"x6" square

  • 5 1/2" square-Charm Square Cut (A)
  • 2 1 1/2" x 5 1/2" squares-Sashing Cut (B)
  • 1 1/2" square-Sashing Square Cut (C)

Quilt Block


  1. Cut fabrics A + B +C [Rotary Cutting]
  2. Lay out the patches as illustrated.

    Block Layout
  3. Sew [Machine Piecing] the patches together, in numerical order, matching the seams.
  4. Block [Blocking]. Add a right and bottom border, using the sashing patches, to complete the quilt.

I made this quilt in queen size for my bed at Christmas. It's gorgeous! Sure put a big dent in stash of Christmas scrap fabric. Try it! It's easy and fun - now going to make one in pinks for my granddaughter.

I like this pattern. I have too much Christmas material that is too small for a large piece, but I can piece it together to make a large piece and the patterns are endless. Thank you for the idea.

I really like this quilt block- I have been looking for a pattern to make My 1 1/2 year old great grand daughter a quilt- I beleive this is it--- I will use soft pinks, soft greens, and maybe some soft blues-- I think it will be just right for { Abby} Thanks g

I really like this quilt. It shows me what I can do with some of my larger scap material. The quilt is very corolful and expressive. It looks like one that a beginner like myself can do.

This could be done faster is you used the strip quilting technique rather than putting each block together seperately.
