If you're hosting a little girl's birthday party, items like this Pretty in Pink Namecard from Shelley Detton are a must!  Tissue paper crafts like this are super easy to make and look great as a place holder or a centerpiece for a fun birthday party!

 Pretty in Pink Namecard

Materials:

  • 4 small rectangles of tissue paper (about 9" x 12")
  • Scissors
  • Tape
  • Egg cup or small vase
  • 2 die-cut flower shapes
  • Toothpick
  • Pen

Instructions:

  1. Stack the tissue layers, then fold in half lengthwise. Using large scissors, cut narrow slits into the unfolded side, leaving about an inch of uncut tissue on the folded side.

  2. Holding the folded tissue so that the fringe can hang down freely, carefully roll up the pompom along the uncut, folded edge. Tape the end so it doesn't unroll, shake it a bit and then put the base of the pompom inside an egg cup or small vase.

  3. To make the name card, tape the two flower shapes back-to-back with the petals offset. Write the name on a circle shape and attach to flower. Insert a toothpick up between the two flower shapes and then insert into pompom.
