By Helen Werntz for Arnold Grummer's

Celebrate the change of seasons with this handmade paper greeting card project from Arnold Grummer's Paper Making Kits and Supplies that is Mother Earth-friendly. Nothing captures speckled hues of fall like recycled paper!

Supplies:

  • Arnold Grummer's Papermill Complete Kit
  • Fall color wastepaper to recycle
  • Cardstock: brown, cream
  • Paper punch: leaves
  • Stamps: Fern (by Rubber Stampede), Verse (by Impression Obsession)
  • Ink pads: Versamark, brown
  • Glue stick

Steps:

  1. Recycle pieces of tan, green, yellow, and light blue scrap paper for card base. Grass, a piece of a leaf, and flower petals were also added to the pulp for the card shown here.

  2. Recycle orange, gold, red and green scraps to make paper for the leaves.

  3. Make paper in the usual way.

  4. Punch leaves from dry sheets. Use a pen or thin marker to draw the veins on leaves.

  5. Tear a strip of brown paper, stamp with fern stamp and Versamark ink pad, attach to left side of card.

  6. Stamp verse on cream cardstock with brown ink. Carefully tear paper around verse, lightly brush edges with brown ink pad for aged effect.

  7. Layer verse onto torn brown paper. Attach verse and leaves to card.
