Spruce up your holiday decor (and put those canned lids to work) with these adorable Canning Jar Lid Wreaths.  Perfect for hanging from the tree or tying onto a gift, these recycled Christmas ornaments are classic and contemporary.  You can make them with ease by watching this tutorial on How to Make Canning Jar Lid Wreaths from craft designer, Bernadette Fox.

Materials:

  • Canning jar lids or rings
  • Mesh bag from the grocery market (often found holding oranges and onions)
  • 26 gauge wire
  • Sprigs of greenery
  • A small ornament (I used miniature pine cones I found in the woods)
  • A meaningful word written on a wooden craft piece or a plastic lid ("Joy", "Peace", "Merry Christmas", "Love")

Instructions:

  1. Drill two holes close together on the side of the canning jar lid.  You will use these holes for the hanger made from the wire. The same wire will also be used to attach the meaningful word.

  2. Drill two more holes close together at about 5 o'clock from the hanger holes, but this time on the top of the lid. These holes will be used to attach the bow you make from the mesh bag, greenery, and small ornament.
