Twisted Pendant Necklace

Add some sparkle to your outfit with this Twisted Pendant Necklace tutorial by Vicki O'Dell. This DIY necklace features a pretty charm framed by twisted strands of seed beads. It's an easy necklace that is perfect for everyday wear.

Materials:

  • Bead stoppers
  • Beading line of your choice
  • 5-7 different colors of seed beads in the same color family

Instructions:

  1. Arrange your seed beads from darkest to lightest.

  2. Cut 6 or 7 strands of bead line (I like Fireline… it’s a fishing line!) to 24 inches or a length of your choosing.

  3. Add beads to each line, darkest beads first.  Keep adding until you have 4 inches of each color.  For example, 4 inches of the darkest color, 4 inches of the next color and so on.  Remember to use the bead stoppers on the ends of all of the lines to keep from losing your beads!

  4. Bring all strands together and put 2 or 3 ‘E’ sized beads on the ends.

  5. Add a cone, a crimp bead, another ’E’ bead and one end of the closure.

  6. Very carefully and patiently fish the line back through the ‘E’ bead and crimp bead and then back into the cone. Crimp the crimp bead.

  7. Repeat on second side.

  8. Attach pendants of your choice with a jump ring.  You may also opt to skip the pendants and close the necklace at the back.  You could also mix up the different blues or go for more of a monochromatic look by just using one color seed bead.
