Spice up your end table with crackle paint from Terri O! It is a super fun activity for you and your whole family, and you will get to spend some quality time together. This is also a really fun way for you to get creative with simple tools in your home.

 Wooden Crackle End Table

Materials:

  • Wood end table
  • Sandpaper
  • Base coat (I used gold.)
  • Crackle medium (Hlide glue or weathered crackle glaze -- I used black.)
  • Paintbrushes
  • Polyurethane

Instructions:

  1. Prep the table by sanding down the wood. Apply gold base coat (This is what shines through.) Allow to dry 1 to 2 hours.

  2. Once base coat is dry, apply top coat of crackle (Follow directions on label for mixing instructions, if necessary). Paintbrush strokes should be in the same direction. Slowly, the crackle will begin to show through.

  3. Coat with polyurethane.

Completion Time: 1 hour + drying time

Helpful Hints:

Always apply paint in the same direction. If you don't, the crackle will look like a mess. The thicker the paint, the larger the crackles.
