Silky V Neck Short Sleeve Top

With this easy knitting pattern from Bernat Yarns, create a silky V-neck top in only two pieces. The short cap sleeves make this top perfect for summer. The bamboo yarn is light, breezy and very soft.

 

Silky V-Neck Knit Top

 


Materials:

  • Yarn: Bernat Bamboo (60 g / 2.1 oz) 6 (7-9-12-13-15) balls of #92510 (Ginger).
  • Knitting Needles: Size 6 mm (U.S. 10)or size needed to obtain gauge.

Sizes:
XS/S (M -L -XL -2/3XL -4/5XL)
To fit bust: 28/34 (36/38-40/42-44/46-48/54-56/62) ins 71/86.5 (91.5/96.5-101.5/106.5-112/117-122/137-142/157.5) cm.

Gauge: 14 sts and 20 rows = 4 ins 10 cm in stocking st.


Instructions:


The instructions are written for smallest size. Changes for larger sizes follow in ( ).
BACK
Cast on 62 (68-76-84-96-110) sts. Proceed in stocking st for 19 ins 48 cm, ending with a purl row. Cast off.

FRONT
Work as given for Back for 11 ins 28 cm, ending with a purl row.

Left Front: 1st row: (RS). K29 (32-36-40-46-53). K2tog. Turn. Leave rem sts on spare needle. Dec 1 st at neck edge every alt row to 18 (21-24-28-33-40) sts.
Cont even until same length as Back, ending with a purl row. Cast off.

With RS facing, join yarn to rem sts and proceed as given for Left Front, reversing V-neck shaping.

FINISHING
Sew shoulder seams. Sew side seams from cast on edge, leaving last 9 ins 23 cm open for armhole.
