Liven up your indoor or outdoor eating area with these Fringed Placemats from Natalie Pirvey.  These easy DIY Placemats are fun to make and are a great way to use up extra ribbon that's laying around your house.  These also make great gifts!  Mix and match ribbon and fabric scraps to create placemats that are unique and colorful.

Materials:

  • Non-Adhesive Drawer Liners (I bought mine for the dollar store)
  • Fabric Strips and/or Ribbon (tip: try to choose a fabric that does not fray too much when you cut it)
  • Scissors

Instructions:

  1. Cut the drawer liner to the size you wish for your placemat. Get creative and make it a circle, heart or any shape you desire.  If the holes in the drawer liner are not wide enough to easily slide fabric through, give them a little snip to make them wider.

  2. Slide fabric through the holes and knot it.

  3. Repeat this step all around the edge of the liner.
