Crocheted Apple Trinket Bowl

This Crocheted Apple Trinket Bowl is perfect for storing little items, like keys, wallets, and other odds and ends.  This crochet bowl pattern would also make a wonderful teacher's gift for the upcoming school year!

Crocheted Apple Trinket Bowl

Materials:

  • 1 ball of red yarn, brand of your choice
  • 1 ball of green yarn, brand of your choice
  • 1 ball of brown yarn, brand of your choice
  • J Crochet hook

 

Instructions:

  1. Start with Magic loop with Red yarn
     
  2. Rnd 1: 16 dc in the loop, join to first dc and close the loop.
     
  3. Rnd 2: ch 3 (stands for first dc), 1 dc in same stitch, (2 dc in next dc) around. join to top of first 3 ch.
     
  4. Rnd 3: ch 3, 1 dc in same stitch, 1 dc in next stitch, (2 dc in next stitch, 1 dc in next stitch) around. join to top of first 3 ch.
     
  5. Rnd 4: ch 3, 1 dc in same stitch, 1 dc in each of next 2 dc, ( 2 dc in next stitch, 1 dc in each of next 2 dc) around. join to top of first 3 ch.
     
  6. Base is complete. If you want a larger bowl, keep increasing the stitches on each round as desired.
     
  7. Starting the sides of the bowl, working in back loops only in this rnd,
     
  8. Rnd 5: ch 1, sc in first dc and in each dc around.
     
  9. Rnds 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13: Same as rnd 5. Fasten off.
     
  10. Again you can add more rows similarly for a larger bowl.
     
  11. For the stem, with brown, ch 18, hdc in 3rd ch from hook and in each ch across. Fasten off.
     
  12. For the leaves (make 2), with green,ch 10, slip stitch in 2nd ch from hook, sc in next ch, hdc in next ch, 1 dc in each of next 4 chs, hdc in next ch, sc in last ch, ch 1, working on opposite side of leaf, sc in 1st stitch, hdc in next stitch, 1 dc in each of next 4 stitches, hdc in next st, sc in next stitch, slip stitch in first stitch. Fasten off.
     
  13. Attach the stem and leaves as desired.
