I am in process of making this doily and think the error begins at RND 8. If you REPEAT 7 times instead of 8 and each row after ONE LESS REPEAT it seems to work out. I have about 3 rows to go and so far the pineapple actually looks like a pineapple.

Rnd 9 does not list the number of times after the 2nd parenthesis: (Ch 3, sc in next ch-3) times

can hardly wait to try this pattern. my grandmother used to crochet pineapple many ways . i wish I would have had her show me how. 77and still learning

One possibility for making it a bit larger would be to use a hook one or two sizes larger. That may be obvious to some, not so much to others. I suspect the crocheter who asked the question wanted to make this MUCH bigger. I agree, amount of thread needed and finished size should have been included in directions.

Does anyone happen to know the size of this doily? Thanks, it would help a lot.

I love doilies. They make a home look so inviting. Knitting just does not look as good as crochet. I vote for crochet.

Beautiful. thanks for posting the size mem14523. I prefer written instructions to graphs but probably because that's how I learned. It took me years to learn to use a graph pattern and though I can read one now still prefer the written out instructions.

I am going to try this pattern for one reason, the photo touches my creative soul, takes me back a long time! jessie'smom

Yes, that is very helpful information. I also like to know the finished size. (It was likely just an oversight that the pattern writer made). Most of the patterns I see have the info in them. This is a very pretty doily - I think I will make it - then I can post the size and approx amount of thread I use. I'm not real fast - it will be awhile. Cathy
