Vivacious Violet Earrings

Vivacious Violet Earrings

Materials:

  • 27” length of .015” diameter bright Beadalon 49 beading wire
  • 44 silver #1 Beadalon crimp beads
  • 4 silver #2 Beadalon crimp tubes
  • 16 violet opal 4mm bicone Swarovksi crystal beads
  • 14 tanzanite 4mm bicone Swarovksi crystal beads
  • 2 violet opal 6mm round Swarovski crystal beads
  • 6 tanzanite 6mm round Swarovski crystal beads
  • 2 silver ear wires
  • Beadstorm™ Chain nose pliers
  • Desinger Flush Cutters
  • Designer Crimper
  • Adhesive tape

Steps:

  1. Cut one 3 ½”, one one 4 ½” and one 5 ½” piece of beading wire.
     
  2. Hold all of the wires together and pass them through a crimp tube. Make a small loop and pass the wires back through the crimp tube. Crimp it.
     
  3. Pass the 3 ½” wire through the following: crimp bead, 4mm violet opal, crimp bead, 4mm violet opal, crimp bead, 4mm tanzanite, crimp bead, 4mm violet opal, crimp bead, 4mm violet opal, crimp bead. Don’t crimp any of the crimp beads yet. Place a small piece of tape over the wire end.
     
  4. Pass the 4 ½” wire through the following: crimp bead, 4mm tanzanite, crimp bead, 4mm tanzanite, crimp bead, 4mm tanzanite, crimp bead, 6mm violet opal, crimp bead, 4mm tanzanite, crimp bead, 4mm tanzanite, crimp bead, 4mm tanzanite, crimp bead. Don’t crimp any of the crimp beads yet. Place a small piece of tape over the wire end.
     
  5. Pass the 5 ½” wire through the following: crimp bead, 4mm violet opal, crimp bead, 6mm tanzanite, crimp bead, 4mm violet opal, crimp bead, 6mm tanzanite, crimp bead, 4mm violet opal, crimp bead, 6mm tanzanite, crimp bead, 4mm violet opal, crimp bead. Don’t crimp any of the crimp beads yet.
     
  6. Remove the tape from the other wires. Hold all of the ends together and pass them through a crimp tube. Make a small loop and pass the wires back through the crimp bead. Crimp it.
     
  7. Adjust the beads so they’re in the center of the wire, then crimp the outermost crimp beads on each wire to hold the beaded sections in place.
     
  8. To attach the wires to the earring, open the lower loop on the ear wire. Slide each crimped wire end onto the loop. Close the ear wire loop.
     
  9. Repeat Steps 1-8 to make a matching earring.
