Gold Exposed Wire Necklace

Use a combination of colorful beads to make a wire necklace from Katie Hacker. This cute creation is ideal for a sweet sixteen gift or other special occasions.

Materials:

  • Two 18" lengths of .015 diameter
  • Gold Beadalon® 7 gold lobster clasp and tag
  • Two gold 1.5mm crimp beads
  • Fifty-one assorted 5-8mm red, green, turquoise, blue, purple glass beads
  • Nippers
  • Crimping pliers

Steps:

  1. Hold the Beadalon® strands together. Place a crimp bead 1/2" from one end of the Beadalon® 7. String the Beadalon® 7 strands through half of the clasp and back into the crimp bead to form a loop. Use crimping pliers to crimp the crimp bead.
     
  2. String three assorted smaller beads onto the upper strand and leave the lower strand exposed. Hold the strand ends together and string a larger bead. String three assorted smaller beads onto the lower strand and leave the upper strand exposed. Hold the strand ends together again and string a larger bead.
     
  3. String the Beadalon® 7 through half of the clasp and back into the crimp bead to form a loop. Use crimping pliers to crimp the crimp bead.
