Patchwork Flower Card

Materials:

  • Template of flower
  • 9.4” x 8.2” of light purple marbled cardboard
  • 7.4” x 4” of dark pink paper
  • Leftover pieces of pink patterned papers
  • One sheet of ordinary white printer paper
  • Pink craft foil
  • Four scrapbook photo corner stickers
  • Foilart Super-tack glue pen
  • 1x flat-sided rhinestone bead
  • 1x white paper flower
  • Artline 210 Fineliner pen.
  • Glue stick
  • Craft glue
  • Pencil
  • Scissors
  • Ruler

Instructions:

  1. Score the light purple marbled cardboard length-wise to create a card sized 4.6” x 8.2”.

  2. With the fold at the left, position and glue the dark pink paper in place.

  3. Cut the patterned papers into different small pieces that would fit nicely together in order to design a patchwork.

  4. Use the glue stick to glue the pieces of patterned paper onto the piece of white printer paper.

  5. Trace the template of the flower onto the patchwork design and cut it out.

  6. Use the fine liner to draw “stitches” onto the patchwork design.

  7. Glue the patchwork flower onto the front of the card.

  8. Use the fine liner to add a stem and leaf to the flower.

  9. Glue the paper flower in the middle of the patchwork flower, and add the rhinestone bead to the centre of the paper flower.

  10. Add the photo corner stickers to the corners of the pink paper.

  11. Add Super-tack glue to the edges of the patchwork flower, and to the vein of the leaf.

  12. Allow the Super-tack glue to dry for about 20 minutes. When the glue is wet, it is blue, but when it is dry it becomes transparent.

  13. Press foil down on the glue. Remember that – of course - the pink side of the foil must be on top.

  14. Rub the foil over the areas where you have added glue with the Super-tack glue pen.

  15. Carefully lift the foil. On the areas where you have added glue with the Super-tack pen, some of the foil will stay behind, thereby highlighting the edges of the patchwork flower, and the vein of the leaf.
