Music Lover's Card

By: Benetta Strydom for FaveCrafts.com

This Music Lover's Card is perfect for the music lover in your life.  With a different sentiment, this card would also be perfect for sending out during the holiday season.  You could even use Christmas carol sheet music as the background for this classic and traditional card.  Share this card with someone who helps you hear music.

Materials:

  • 8.2” x 6” light yellow marbled cardstock
  • 3.8” x 5.4” light textured caramel-colored cardstock
  • 2.2” x 2.2” red riffled cardstock
  • Copy of a sheet of music (http://makingmusicfun.net/htm/printit_piano_sheet_music_index.htm)
  • Printed clipart of a musical instrument (http://en.clipart-fr.com/Clipart/)
  • Small red fabric bow
  • Matching decorative red fabric ribbon
  • Die-cut message tag ~ for this project, a tag with the message “Handpicked For You” was used
  • Three 3D self-adhesive foam squares
  • Box of matches
  • Craft glue
  • Pencil
  • Scissors
  • Ruler
  • Matching light yellow marbled envelope

Instructions:

  1. Score the light yellow marbled cardstock length-wise to create a card sized 4.1” x 6”.

  2. With the fold at the left, position and glue the 5.4” x 3.8” textured paper to the front of the card, carefully ensuring that it is an equal distance from the edges.

  6. Cut two small strips from the decorative red ribbon and glue it to the back of the 2.2” x 2.2” red cardstock.

  7. Glue the red cardstock to the front of the card.

  8. Cut the clipart out and glue to the front of the red cardstock.

  9. Glue the small red fabric bow in place.

  10. Create a 3D effect for the die-cut message tag. Use the self-adhesive foam squares to lift the tag off the background.
