How to Use Fabric on Cards

Give your card a unique texture and feel by embellishing it with fabric accents.  In this How to Use Fabric on Cards tutorial by Latrice Murphy, you'll learn how to create a card that stands out above the rest.  You could also use this technique on scrapbooks and mini albums to give your paper craft a fresh look, feel, and texture.

Materials:

  • Patterned paper (American Crafts- Dear Lizzy 5th and Frolic)
  • Washi tape- My Minds Eye
  • Fabric and buttons were from my stash. Originally from my local craft store and vintage findings.
  • Adhesive
  • Stamps
  • Ink

Instructions:

  1. Make your card from Brown cardstock
     
  2. Adhere patterned vellum to the top with staples.
     
  3. Add a strip of coordinating Washi tape along the bottom and trim excess.
     
  4. Stamp your sentiment in black onto your premade fabric embellishment.
     
  5. Using a strong adhesive adhere your premade fabric ruffle to cover the seams of the patterned vellum and Washi tape.
