Great for birthdays, graduations, weddings, and more, this Freebird Card is a project that's suitable for almost any occasion.  The wings also move thanks to the center brad, so you could even hide a secret message under one of the wings!  For nature lovers and bird lovers alike, this is a great card that can be sent for practically any reason.

Materials:

  • Pattern of bird and wings
  • Apiece sized 8.2” x 6” cut from a Glitter Paper Dots 12” x 12” scrapbook paper from Upikit International, product code GP4177
  • Charcoal-colored cardstock
  • Sand-colored cardstock
  • Birdcage masking from Upikit International, product code M075
  • One small silver brad
  • One small clear flat-sided rhinestone beads
  • Quick drying glue
  • Pencil
  • Ruler
  • Pair of standard scissors

 

Instructions:

  1. Score the 8.2” x 6” scrapbook paper in half to create a card sized 4.1” x 6” ~ the glitter dots must be on the outside of the card.
     
  2. Trace and cut the bird from the charcoal cardstock, one wing from the sand cardstock and one wing from the opposite side of the Glitter Paper Dots paper.
     
  3. Affix the bird’s two wings, using the brad.

  4. With the fold at the top, glue a strip of masking tape to the top and bottom of the card.

  5. Glue the bird to the front of the card.
     
  6. Glue the rhinestone bead where the bird’s eye should be.
