Delphinium Petals: 'Thinking of You' Card

Dried delphinium petals from a garden or bouquet are dependable and easy to use. Keep them in a paper bag for paper making in winter - if you can wait that long!  Make this beautiful card from Arnold Grummer's Paper Making Kits and Supplies.

  • Arnold Grummer's Copper Dust
  • Arnold Grummer's Papermill Complete Kit
  • Blank card and envelope or Cardstock: 6 1/2" x 10"
  • Coordinating cardstock for mat: 3 3/4" x 5 3/4"
  • Sheer ribbon: 3/8" wide, 5" long
  • 3 sheer ribbon roses
  • Pen, gel pen or marker
  • Ruler
  • Scissors
  • Glue stick

  1. Prepare pulp for paper making following kit directions.
  2. Add fresh or dried delphinium petals to pulp in the blender for last 2 seconds of blending.
  3. Optional: Add metallic dust (we used copper) to blended pulp before forming sheet.
  4. Make paper in the usual way, following kit directions.
  5. After paper is dry, cut or tear a piece measuring 3 1/2" x 5 1/2".
  7. Cut or tear a coordinating paper for a mat measuring 3 3/4" x 5 3/4". The mat doesn't have to be handmade paper.
  8. Layer the two pieces onto a blank card, or onto a 6 1/2" x 10" piece of cardstock folded in half.
  9. Notch the sheer ribbon on both ends. Glue onto paper. Glue 3 ribbon roses into place as shown.
  10. Optional: Write or stamp your greeting along the lower edge of the card.
