Spooky Eyes Tee Shirt

Transform a plain black tee into this fun Spooky Eyes Tee Shirt from Amanda Formaro, great for kids of all ages.  Have your kids help decorate these shirts on a blistery autumn night.  It makes for a great family craft activity!  For some extra fun, use glow in the dark paint when you create the eyes.  Kids will have a blast showing off this homemade shirt to their friends!

Materials:

  • Black t-shirt
  • White and black craft paint or fabric paint
  • Fabric medium (if using regular craft paint)
  • Glitter fabric paint in yellow, orange and green
  • Cardboard

    

Instructions:

  1. Insert cardboard inside t-shirt so that paint doesn't seep through.
     
  2. Mix white paint and fabric medium according to bottle directions. Use a paintbrush to "draw" ovals onto the shirt in various areas. Let dry then give all the ovals another coat of white.
     
  3. Use the colored glitter paints to color in the white ovals. Let dry and add another coat if needed or desired.

  4. Mix black paint and fabric medium according to bottle directions. Use the handle end of the paintbrush to add the black dots onto the eyes.

  5. Add upwards and downward eyebrows on some of the eyes using black paint.

  6. Allow to dry completely before removing the cardboard.
