Spook or Snack Boxes

By:

Decorative stacking boxes are great for adding height and dimension to your home decor...and these Spook or Snack Boxes from Consumer Crafts are great for your Halloween party table scape.  Fill them with popcorn, candy, or plastic bugs!

Spook or Snack Boxes

Materials:

  • Paper Mache Round Box Set
  • Feathered Crow 4.75 inch ( the one I used is 7.5 inches and it a little too large)
  • Scrapbooking Papers of your Choice
  • Ribbon
  • Hot Glue Gun
  • Paper Trimmer
  • Matte Mod Podge
  • 4 Round Wood Beads
  • Black Paint
  • Foam Brush

Instructions:

  1. The paper we used was from a stack of paper we had on hand. Really, you can use up whatever you have. It’s a great way to use up left over supplies. You could even piece the paper together for more of a “patchwork” look if you wanted.

  2. To begin with, you may wish to paint your boxes, but it's not necessary.

  3. Cover the sides and tops of the boxes with paper. Simply brush the Mod Podge on the box and then on the paper and stick the two together. Smooth paper down with your fingers. Let dry.

  4. Adhere ribbon around the sides of the boxes with hot glue.

  5. To put the crow on the top of the box, use an awl to poke a hole into the top box and push the wire that is attached to the crows’ feet into the holes. Then twist the wire to hold it on.
