Recycled Pizza Peace Pendant

A late night pizza might not be the best idea if you're on a diet, but it can be a great idea if you love green recycled crafts! Use the spacer from your meal to create a Recycled Pizza Peace Pendant from Heidi Borchers. Who knew going green could taste so good?


 

Materials:

• Pizza spacer (it’s white and comes in a pizza box and looks like a little table)
• Wire nippers
• Glue for plastic
• Drill with small 1/16” drill bit
• Eco acrylic paints
• Sponges- make up type
• Glitter- fine
• Rhinestones
• Sakura 3-D Lacquer
• Jump ring
• Cording
• Beads
• Craft knife
• Wax paper

Instructions:

1. Using wire type nippers, carefully cut off each leg on the side of the spacer.
   
   
    
2. Carefully use a craft knife to trim off excess.
   
   
    
3. Using one of the cut off legs, cut and fit into circle area to complete the peace symbol.
   
   
    
4. Glue this cut piece into place. Let glue dry.
   
   
    
5. Carefully drill a hole at the top edge of the peace sign.
   
   
    
6. Pour several different colors of paints onto the wax paper. Cut the makeup sponge into smaller pieces. Apply paint with sponge by dabbing on surface. Let paint dry.
   
   
    
7. Using the edge of a cosmetic sponge, apply black paint onto the raised area of the peace sign.
   
   
    
8. While paint is still wet, sprinkle glitter into wet paint. Let dry. When dry apply the Sakura 3-D Lacquer. Let lacquer dry completely.
   
   
    
9. Insert jump ring into drilled hole. Tie cording to the jump ring. Place beads onto cording, tying knots to hold beads in place.
