Materials List
-
Plain Umbrella
- White crayon(Optional)
- White fabric paint
- Painter's tape(Optional)
- Foam brush(Optional)
- Paint brush
Instructions
-
Plan your design. I decided to draw a dahlia flower.I practiced how it is going to look on a piece of paper before painting it on the umbrella. To make it more easier, I used white crayon and hand drew the design I planned on to the umbrella.
-
Use a fine tip paint brush and paint over the traced design
-
Once the dahlia is complete. I felt something is missing so I decided to outline the umbrella. For this, use painter's tape and tape it 2 inches from the hem.
-
Use foam brush and paint the outline white. It took 3 coats of paint to get a opaque look.Once it is dry, you are done. I added some decorative lines in the center to micmic a real flower and it really added a nice touch to the whole look. That is it!! You can now rock the april showers in style.

This is such a cool way to spruce up a boring umbrella! It will certainly add a bit of brightness to a blah rainy day.
