Daring Mason Jar Cozy

Many people opt for Mason jar crafts and recipes when looking for a gift. Try something a little more unique and dress up your Mason jar with this Daring Mason Jar Cozy. This is much more fun than handing a naked jar to your neighbors. Best of all, it only requires one quilt block. Chances are that you already have quite a few miscellaneous quilting scraps that you don't know what to do with. These Mason jar gift ideas are a great way to make a plain jar look adorable while helping you clean up your crafting room.

Daring Mason Jar Cozy

Materials:

  • Quilt Block 8″ X 8″ or one strip of fabric 4″ X 16″ {this size is really customizable- any size from 6″ – 9″ would work}
  • Flannel for the middle
  • 2 Ribbons- 12″ & 24″
  • Backing- 4″ X 16″ -or customize if using a different sized quilt block

Instructions:

  1. Cut your quilt block in half
     
  2. Sew together to make a long piece
     
  3. Cut backing and flannel the same size
     
  4. Pin ribbons in the center of one end of the top piece
     
  5. Layer the front and back- right sides together.  Pin on top of flannel
     
  6. Sew all the way around the cozy, leaving a 2″ opening for turning
     
  7. Snip corners and turn right sides out
     
  8. Iron and hand sew opening closed
     
  9. Wrap around jar and tie in bow
