July 4th Firecracker Bracelet

By:

Flexible blue and white wire wraps around striking red glass beads in this unique jewelry craft project perfect. Wear on the 4th of July or anytime you want the colors of red, white and blue. 

Firecracker Bracelet

Materials:

  • Soft Flex Beading Wire .019 diameter in Turquoise Blue Topaz
  • Soft Flex Beading Wire .019 diameter in White Quartz
  • 12mm Sterling Silver Toggle - 1 clasp set
  • 25mm x 20mm x 10mm Textured Sterling Silver Cones - 1 pair
  • 2mm x 2mm Sterling Silver Crimp Tubes - 4 crimps
  • 3mm Sterling Silver Crimp Covers - 2 crimp covers
  • 14mm Opaque Red Czech Glass Beads - 15 beads

Tools:

  • Cutters
  • Bead Crimping Pliers
  • 4-Pin Knitting Spool with Stylus
     

Fireworks Bracelet

Instructions:

  1. Unwind a long length of wire from each spool. Hold the White Quartz and the Turquoise Blue Topaz wires together and use both wires to string all of the glass beads.
     
  2. Pass the ends of the wire down through the hole in the knitting spool, making sure there are a few inches of wire to hold beneath the spool. For help with the knitting spool, see the How to Knit Wire on a Spool tutorial.
     
  3. Wrap the wire clockwise completely around the first peg, then move counterclockwise to the next peg. Repeat for the remaining pegs, then wrap the wire around the outside of the first peg.
     
  4. Being knitting and knit 16 stitches of wire, no beads.
     
  5. String 1 bead up between the two pegs and knit 1 stitch. Knit 10 stitches of wire.
     
  6. Repeat step 5 fourteen times.
     
  7. Knit 16 stitches of wire, no beads.
     
  8. Finish off by weaving the ends of the wire through all of the loops and then popping the loops off of the spool.
     
  9. Use both wires on one end of the bracelet to string 1 crimp tube. Snug the tube down to the end of the knitted portion and crimp. Cut the tail end of the Turquoise Blue Topaz wire only. Use the remaining White Quartz wire to string 1 cone, 1 crimp tube, and one half of the clasp. Pass back through the tube, make sure the cone is snug over the end of the knitted wire, and crimp. Cover the tube with a crimp cover. Repeat entire step for the other end of the bracelet.
