Styrofoam Flower Bouquet

Decorate your table with a colorful bouquet! This home craft idea the perfect decoration for any room. Place on a table, in your bedroom, or in the kitchen!
 


 

Materials:

  • Plaid Materials
    • 20590 - Apple Barrel ® Colors - Cardinal Crimson, 2 oz.
    • 20501 - Apple Barrel ® Colors - Bright Red, 2 oz.
    • 20562 - Apple Barrel ® Colors - Laguna, 2 oz.
    • 20502 - Apple Barrel ® Colors - Yellow, 2 oz.
    • 20589 - Apple Barrel ® Colors - Harvest Orange, 2 oz.
  • Cookie Cutters: 3” Flower
  • Apple Barrel Wild Iris (Item #10593)
  • 1” Round
  • Heat Foam Cutter
  • Heavy Gauge Wire
  • Hot Glue
  • Paint Brushes
  • 1” STYROFOAM(tm) Brand Foam Sheet
  • Medium Size Styrofoam Eggs
  • STYROFOAM(tm) Brand Foam for the Base
  • 1” STYROFOAM(tm) Brand Foam Balls
  • Container

 

Instructions:

  1. One flower is created using a 3” flower-shaped cookie cutter. Paint the flower with Cardinal Crimson, and then cut a 1” center using a round cookie cutter. Paint this Harvest Orange. Hot glue the center to the petals.
     
  2. Hot glue heavy gauge wire to the back of the flower; wire should support flower.

 

  1. The next flower is created using medium-sized STYROFOAM(tm) Brand Foam eggs, cut in half vertically. The center is a 2” ball cut in half. Paint the petals Laguna, and the center Bright Red. Hot glue center and petals together.
     
  2. Hot glue heavy gauge wire to the back of the flower; wire should support flower.

 

  1. Another flower was created using a heated foam cutter. A template was designed and traced onto the STYROFOAM(tm) Brand Foam, and shape was cut.
     
  2. Paint the flower with Cardinal Crimson, and apply a 1” ball to the center (painted Yellow) to the center with hot glue.
     
  3. Hot glue heavy gauge wire to the back of the flower; wire should support flower.

Those are pretty neat. You could also glue some green foam for leaves. I have some colored foam that I may try to make the flowers with. I think I'll use some straws for stems.
