Does the dad in your life have a need for speed? Celebrate his love for fast cars this Father's Day! Easy crafts make great gifts and this Race Car Wall Art project from Heidi Borchers is perfect for the whole family to create together. Use nuts, bolts, washers and so much more.

Race Car Wall Art

Materials:

  • Aleene’s Super Thick Tacky Glue
  • Car pattern of your choice
  • Pencil
  • Nuts, bolts, washers, mesh, pop can tabs and miscellaneous materials to represent various shapes for your car
  • Toothpick (to apply glue)
  • Frame
  • Paper, matboard or felt for backing

Instructions:

  1. Choose favorite car pattern, enlarge to fit desired size and print onto white paper. Place pattern on background paper and lightly trace around pattern to create guide lines for gluing. Lay items onto paper to fit within the pattern lines. Rearrange as necessary until you have the exact patterning you want to represent your car.

  2. Apply fine line of glue to paper for smaller items such as this piece of ball chain that I am gluing in place to represent the top of the car.

  3. I used washers for the tires and netting and a pendant frame for the windows. Use toothpick to apply glue or squeeze directly from bottle.
