Note: Delta Air-Dry PermEnamel is a unique paint that adheres to glass and tile surfaces. Project surface must be clean and dry before proceeding. Surface Conditioner must be applied to ensure a permanent bond between the paint and the glass. Once Surface Conditioner is applied avoid touching the glass, use gloves or handle the piece from the bottom. Surface Conditioner lasts for 4 hours, if your project takes longer simply let the paint dry completely and reapply the Surface Conditioner. DO NOT thin paint with water, use Surface Conditioner. DO NOT add water to your brushes when you paint, pinch out all excess water before you begin to paint. The paint is permanent once it has cured for a full 10 days. The painted surface is dishwasher, microwave and oven safe to 350 degrees (as long as the original glass piece is.)

Steps:

  1. Wash dishes with warm soapy water, rinse and dry thoroughly.

  2. Using the 1/2” brush generously apply Surface Conditioner to the rims of the plates, let dry.

  3. Using a sponge apply Cotton Candy Pink to the rim of the dinner plate with a pouncing motion. Let dry and repeat. For the salad plates apply a mix of Crocus Yellow Cotton Candy Pink (4:1), this is Mix #1. Let dry.

    Dinner Plate:
  4. Double-load the #4 filbert with Mix #1 and Tangerine. Randomly apply seven comma strokes onto the rim of the dinner plate. This is the body of the dragonfly.

  5. Using the #6 filbert apply the wings to the dragonflies using Mix #1. Let dry.

  6. Add the smaller wing on top of the first using a double-load of Mix #1 and Tangerine.

  7. Add little antennae using the 10/0 liner and Mix #1.

  8. Using the liner brush and Fuchsia thinned with Surface Conditioner randomly fill in open areas with swirls of differing sizes.

  9. Using a stylus add dots of Light Foliage Green.

    Salad Plate:
  10. Using the #6 filbert randomly paint small irregular dots of Cotton Candy Pink around the rim.

  11. Using the #4 filbert and Light Foliage Green stroke two small leaves next to each dot.

  12. Using a liner brush and Fuchsia thinned with Surface Conditioner paint a swirl on top of each pink dot. Refer to photo.

  13. Randomly add dots of Tangerine around the rim of the plate. Let dry.

    Finishing:
  14. Set dishes aside to cure for a full ten days before using. Enjoy!
