Learn how to attach a wig to your doll. You can create a beautiful hairpiece just for her. Once you make one you can make as many as you want for all your dolls in all different colors and lengths.

How to Measure:
Wrap a cloth tape measure around the circumference of your doll’s head, just above the eyebrows. Wig measurements are in inches. If your doll’s head is in-between wig sizes, it’s better to get a wig slightly too small than too large. You can carefully cut the elastic in the wig to allow for size adjustment, but be careful not to cut into the stitching.

How to Attach a Wig:
Set the pate, if required, on the head and let it dry completely before attaching the wig. (*See more instructions below on setting a pate.)

Turn the wig inside out. Glue center of wig cap to top of head & hold in place. Glue around the wig cap a section at a time, slowly rolling the wig down around the head. Use fingertips to shift the wig into place and press it slightly. Set aside and let dry.

You can use tacky glue or a hot glue gun. Do not use superglue--it will crack & ruin the wig cap.

How to Set a Pate:
Select the right size pate by measuring the diameter of the opening. The pate rests on the narrow ledge or lip.

Apply a thin continuous line of glue around the “lip” of the opening.

Place the pate on top of the glue and press it down gently. Wipe off excess and allow to dry completely.

Warning: Buckram pates will fall when wet or too much glue is applied. If dented, the pate will not regain its shape.
