Macaroni Art Box

Dried pasta crafts are a great way to save money and skip a trip to the craft store! You might remember crafting with food as a child, but there's nothing juvenile about this Macaroni Art Box from Heidi Borchers. Use this crafty box to stay organized or store important items

Macaroni and Pasta Art Box

  • Box - wood or paper mache
  • Aleene's Tacky Glue
  • Pasta - various shapes and sizes
  • Water bottle caps (for box legs)
  • Paint (I used glossy white spray paint)
  • Cardboard from cereal box (for flower)
  • Pencil
  • Scissors

  1. Cut a circle from cardboard (my circle is approximately 3-1/2″). Glue the pasta shapes onto the circle. Set aside to dry.

  2. Apply glue onto the pasta and adhere onto the side and top of the box lid.

  3. Place lid onto the box and trace a line with pencil where the lid sits on box.

  4. In order for the lid to fit properly, when gluing the pasta onto the box bottom, do not glue over this line. Continue gluing pasta on the box bottom until completely covered. Set aside to dry.

  5. Glue and place pasta flower onto the top of lid. Glue leaves pattern on using the penne pasta and the small pasta shells.
