Kathleen George gives us inspirational craft ideas with word stickers. This inspirational egg has great decoupage instructions. Give it to a friend who is interviewing for that perfect job or someone who is having a tough time.

Materials:

  • STYROFOAM™ Brand Foam:
    • Egg, 6"
  • Gloss-finish découpage medium
  • Word stickers or computer-printed words
  • Modeling paste
  • Fine-grit sandpaper
  • Pencil
  • Ruler
  • Wooden skewer
  • Disposable mixing cup
  • Craft stick or table knife
  • Medium flat paintbrush
  • Water basin
  • Paper towels
  • Scissors
  • Stick-flat paste or liquid paper glue

Steps:

  1. Place small amount modeling paste into disposable cup and mix well with craft stick until smooth; add tiny bit of water if needed.

  2. Insert skewer into bottom of foam egg to use as handle. Brush thin coat of paste mixture onto egg using soft, wide brush. Dip brush into water occasionally as you work and use long, light strokes. Place skewer in heavy glass or jar while egg dries.

  3. Sand egg lightly to smooth surface even more.

  4. If using computer-generated text, print inspirational words in a variety of fonts. You may print words in color, as well. Cut out words, leaving border around each.

  5. Glue words to egg, adding large words first and filling in with smaller words.

  6. Follow manufacturer's instructions to apply thin, even coat of découpage medium over words. Do not over-brush medium or ink may smear. Let dry. Apply second coat of medium; let dry.
