Decorate STYROFOAM™ Brand Foam cubes with a modern design, fill them with beautiful silk flowers and you can brighten up any room. Don't spend money on an expensive vase; this project is quick and easy and creates a more unique decoration.

Modern Flower Cubes

Materials:

  • STYROFOAM™ Brand Foam:
    • Three 5" cubes
  • Five coordinating patterns, 12" x 12" sheets, decorative paper
  • Three Orange silk gerbera daisies,
  • Paper trimmer or scissors
  • Craft knife with sharp blade
  • Low-temp glue gun and glue sticks
  • Thick white craft glue
  • Pencil
  • Ruler

Steps:

  1. For each foam cube, use scissors or paper trimmer to cut six 5-1/8" squares from a variety of papers.

  2. Spread thin, even coat of glue onto one side of first foam cube. Place paper square over pasted foam, flush with one side and top edge; smooth paper with fingers.

  3. Use craft knife to trim excess paper at side and bottom edges. Repeat to cover all sides of each foam cube.

  4. Use scissors tip to poke small hole in center top of each cube. Apply hot glue to daisy stems and insert into holes; let dry.

I'm planning on redecorating my room to a paris theme, but I couldn't find the right thing to decorate with. So, when I looked at these flower cubes I said to myself, " That's it! that's what I've been searching for all along!" I love it, and now so does my room and everyone else who sees it! - Kaylene
