Decorative Square Vase

Using acrylics and one step crackle you can make your own decorative vase. This is great if you are redoing your house this summer and need something to spruce it up. You can use this vase for flowers or just as a container. It'll be yours in 4 easy steps.

Materials:

  • Americana Acrylics
    • DAO3 - Buttermilk
    • DAO93 - Raw Sienna
  • One Step Crackle
    • DS69 - One Step Crackle
  • Triple Thick Gloss Glaze
    • TG01-10 - Triple Gloss Glaze, 4-oz. Jar
  • Americana Brushes
    • DBF2575-B - Flat 3/4"

Supplies:

  • Water container
  • Paper towels
  • Palette or foam plate
  • Clean rag or sponge
  • Square ceramic vase

 

Steps:

PAINTING INSTRUCTIONS:

  1.  
  2. Basecoat entire outside surface Buttermilk using 3/4" brush. Let dry.
     
  3. Following label instructions, apply One Step Crackle over painted surface. Let dry until completely clear. (Finish will crack as it dries.)
     
  4. Use soft rag to apply Raw Sienna over crackled surface, buffing off excess paint as you work. Allow to dry completely.
     
  5. Use brush to apply Triple Thick Gloss Glaze. Let dry.
