How to Make a Blinged Out Purse

Upcycle an old binocular case and turn it into this fun and blinged out purse!  With this helpful How to Make a Blinged Out Purse tutorial from Savannah Starr, you'll learn how to turn that thrift store find into a purse you'll be proud to show off!  Bling out your upcycled purse with little jewels, toys, or other fun odds and ends you may have lying around your home.

Materials:

Flat top leather case (binoculars case)
Acrylic paint (black) and paint brush (this is only needed if you want to change the color of the case
E-6000 glue
Sandpaper
Collectibles – including toy cars, army soldiers, Scrabble tiles, rhinestones, beads
Toothpicks (to apply glue and help to place items
EnviroTex Lite – pour-on high gloss finish

Instructions:

  1. If needed, paint case inside and out. Let dry completely.
     
  2. Determine placement of embellishments by laying on flat surface. Take photo to refer back to when gluing items in place.
     
  3. If needed, lightly sand the back of embellishments to help roughen the surface for better gluing hold.
     
  4. Squeeze a small puddle of glue onto non-stick surface. Use toothpick to apply to back of embellishments and glue in place using photo as guide.
     
  5. Let glue dry completely.
     
  6. Mix batch of EnviroTex Lite and carefully pour between glued embellishments. If desired, drop rhinestones and additional beads into mixture between glued embellishments. Do not overpour or the mixture may run down the sides. Set undisturbed to dry for 48 hours.
