Butterfly on Her Back

Dress up her backpack this fall with pretty butterflies and she'll enjoy returning to school that much more.

Painted Butterfly Girl's Backpack

Materials:

DecoArt Products Required:
SoSoft Fabric Acrylics

  • DSS36 - Ultra White
  • DSS37 - Primary Yellow
  • DSS72 - Bright Pink
  • DSS73 - Bright Azalea
  • DSS75 - Green Apple

SoSoft Dimensional Writers

  • DD119 - Purple

Americana Brushes

  • DBR2002-B - Round 2

Supplies:

  • Foam plate
  • 3/8" round foam pouncer brush
  • Transfer paper
  • Transfer pencil
  • Water container
  • Paper towels
  • Bright pink canvas/nylon backpack with paintable area (It may be necessary to remove brand tags.)

Instructions:

  1. Transfer pattern. Squeeze some of Purple onto plate; use 2 round brush to paint body of butterfly.
     
  2. Use Primary Yellow and round brush for wings; allow to dry.
     
  3. For each flower, use pouncer brush and Ultra White to paint five dots for flower petals; fill in center area of flower.
     
  4. With pouncer brush, dot Bright Pink and Bright Azalea on butterfly wings. Use Bright Pink, Bright Azalea, and Primary Yellow for flower centers. Use Green Apple for dot leaves.
     
  5. With Purple Dimensional Writer, paint butterfly antennae and dashed line of flight path.
