The Baby O Baby Purse from Testors uses self adhesive airbrush stencils to personalize a mod metal purse with a pretty silhouette of a fairy and dreamy stars.  The purple shading around the rim adds to the ethereal effect!

Baby O Baby Purse

Materials:

  • ColorArtz Starter Kit
  • White metal purse
  • Blue Painter's Masking Tape
  • Newsprint
  • ColorArtz Baby Oh Baby Stencil Collection
  • Pink Cadillac ColorArtz Paint Pouch
  • Purple People Eater ColorArtz Paint Pouch

Instructions:

  1. Prepare a flat work surface with a drop cloth.

  2. If you are new to ColorArtz, practice on a sample.

  3. Cover purse handle with blue painter's masking tape.

  4. Apply Pink Cadillac color, spraying light mist coats onto entire purse. Do not soak with paint. To reach a darker color, apply many light coats, letting dry a few minutes in between sprays.

  5. Mask side of purse with blue painter's masking tape and newsprint.

  6. Apply Purple People Eater color spraying light mist coats onto top edge. Let overspray go onto top to blend in with Pink Cadillac color. Do not soak with paint. To reach a darker color, apply many light coats, letting dry a few minutes in between sprays.

  7. Let project dry.

  8. Remove stencil backing and place self-adhesive stencil into position. We recommend using stencil adhesive when using non-adhesive stencils for best results.

  9. Make sure stencil is fully adhered to the purse.

  10. Place masking tape overlapping the edges of the stencil.

  11. Apply Purple People Eater color, spraying light mist coats onto stencil. Do not soak with paint. Be careful not to spray at an angle to avoid lifting the stencil. Spray light coat onto the face, arms, bottom of foot, and inside wings. Spray additional light coats to the rest of the stencil. To reach a darker color, apply many light coats, letting dry a few minutes in between sprays.

  12. Let project dry.

  13. Remove masking tape and stencil.
