Comment On This Article

This stitched sampler is considered an intermediate design because it is stitched on a fine count of linen.  If you'd like to make it easier, simply stitch it on the fabric of your choosing.  This cross stitch pattern has an old-time feel to it that parents and grandparents would enjoy.

Materials:

  • 7" x 8" piece of 35-count white linen, or your favorite fabric
  • #28 Tapestry needle
  • Kreinik Silk Mori in colors: 5097, 5055, 7014, 4166, 6106, 7012, 3013
  • Chart

Steps:

  1. If stitching on linen, each square on the chart equals two fabric threads.

  2. Stitch over two threads centered on your linen using one strand of Silk Mori for all cross stitches following color key.

  3. Use one strand of Silk Mori 6106 to backstitch the word "Summer" and one strand of Silk Mori 5097 to backstitch the windows.
