Easy Wash Cloth

Make your own wash cloths inexpensively in colors to match your decor with this easy wash cloth crochet pattern from Lily Sugar n' Cream. The cotton yarn for these wash cloths grow softer with use.  To make the hanging storage unit pictured here, see the Hanging Storage Crochet Pattern.


 

Materials:

  • Yarn: Lily® Sugar ’n Cream (Solids: 70.9 g/2.5 oz/109 m/120 yds) 1 ball each of: Dk Blue, Lt Blue or White.
  • Crochet hook: Size 4 mm (U.S. 6 or G) crochet hook or size needed to obtain gauge.

Gauge: 17 sts and 18 rows = 4 ins [10 cm] in pat.

Instructions:

Ch 42.
1st row: (RS). 1 sc in 2nd ch from hook. *Ch 1. Miss next ch. 1 sc in next ch. Rep from * to end of ch. 41 sts. Ch 1. Turn.
2nd row: 1 sc in first sc. *1 sc in next ch-1 sp. Ch 1. Miss next sc. Rep from * to last sc. 1 sc in last sc. Ch 1. Turn.
3rd row: 1 sc in first sc. *Ch 1. Miss next sc. 1 sc in next ch-1 sp. Rep from * to last sc. 1 sc in last sc. Ch 1. Turn.
Rep last 2 rows until work from beg measures 9 ins [23 cm].
Fasten off.

Can this be knitted instead of crocheted ladies. I would love to know. Thanks ladies

I like your pattern more than my own made up one. Is it okay to sell these made from your pattern? I can get $3 each if I do but have only given away. I could use the money (living on social security) if it is not illegal to sell from your pattern. Thank You.

This is pretty neat looking one.

I want to see a picture of the washcloth, not the hanging storage that I'm not interested in. I have to crochet it to see what it looks like?

How wide is it? Well, according to the gauge, my guess would be about 10 inches.
