Cute Crochet Santa Ornament

Why buy Christmas Ornaments this holiday season when you can crochet them?  This cute Santa crochet pattern will bring joy to your heart when you place it on the tree.  This cute crochet Santa ornament also makes a great gift adornment or stocking stuffer for anyone on your list.  Great for using up scrap pieces of yarn, this simple crochet ornament can be made in under an hour, and is a fun project for anyone to try.

 Cute Crochet Santa Ornament

Materials:

  • 1 skein white yarn
  • 1 skein light brown or peach yarn
  • 1 skein red yarn
  • 2 black eyes
  • Embellishments for mouth and cheeks
  • 3.5 crochet hook

 

Instructions:

  1. R1 -  With White color Single crochet (sc) 6 on Magic Ring for a total of 6 sts
     
  2. R2 - 2 sc in each st (stitch) for a total of 12 sts
     
  3. R3 - [sc 1, 2 sc in the next st] for a total of 18 sts
     
  4. R4 - [sc 2, 2 sc in the next st] for a total of 24 sts
     
  5. R5 to R7 - sc all around for a total of 24 sts
     
  6. R8 - With Light yellow color using BLO (back loops only),Sc all around for a total of 24 sts
     
  7. R9 to R11 - Sc all around (both loops again) for a total of 24 sts
     
  8. R12 to R13 - Using Red color Sc all around, Embroider mouth, eyebrows, nose and attach safety eyes for a total of 24 sts
     
  9. R14 - [Invdec 1, sc 2] (Invdec = Invisible decrease) for a total of 18 sts
     
  10. R15 to R16 - Sc all around for a total 18 sts
     
  11. Stuff here
     
  12. R17 - [Invdec 1, sc 1] for a total of 12sts
     
  13. R18 to R19 - Sc all around for a total of 12 sts
     
  14. R20 - Invdec all around for a total of 6sts
     
  15. Cut the yarn, fasten off and weave in ends to close the center hole. Embellish as you wish. I used polymer clay mini circles on the cheeks and a boot shaped button on the head. Now, attach a small string at the top so you can hang it on your Christmas tree. It's done!
