Just in time for the Christmas season! This Christmas Reversible Ripple Afghan from Roseanna Beck looks great and feels even better. You'll love this crochet afghan pattern.

 

Christmas Reversible Ripple Afghan

 

Materials:

  • 1,160 yds. White Red Heart 4-ply yarn
  • 580 yds. Paddy Green Red Heart 4-ply yarn
  • 570 yds. Jockey Red Red Heart 4-ply yarn
  • G and H hooks or size needed for guage

Instructions:

  1. Row 1 – With green and H hook ch 152, dc in 5th ch from hook, dc in each of next 6 ch, *Shell  in next ch, dc in each of next 8 ch, skip 2 ch, Spl Sh in next ch, skip 2 ch, dc in each of next 8 ch, rep from * across, fasten off and turn. (6 Spl Shs and 7 Shells)
     
  2. Row 2 – Join white with a sl st, ch 2, skip 1 dc, dc in each of next 7 dc, *Shell in next Shell, skip  1 dc of Shell, dc in each of next 8 dc, ch 2, sc in next ch 2 sp, ch 3, sc in next ch 2 sp, ch  2, skip 1 dc, dc in each of next 8 dc, rep from * across ending Shell in last Shell, skip 1 dc, dc in each of next 7 dc, skip 1 dc, dc in ch 3 of turning ch, fasten off and turn.
     
  3. Row 3 – Join red with a sl st, ch 2, skip 1 dc, dc in each of next 7 dc, *Shell in Shell, skip 1 dc of Shell, dc in each of next 8 dc, Spl Sh in next ch 3 sp, skip 1 dc, dc in each of next 8 dc, rep from * across ending Shell in last Shell, skip 1 dc, dc in each of next 7 dc, skip 1 dc, dc in ch 3 of turning ch, fasten off and turn.
     
  4. Rep Rows 2 and 3 for a total of 88 rows as follows: Color Scheme: 1 row each – green, white, red, white, green, white, red, white

Edging:

  1. With G hook work along straight edge, join white with a sl st in first dc, (sc, ch 2, sc) in same sp, (sc, ch 2, sc) in each dc across and fasten off. Rep along opposite edge.

Notes:

  1. Gauge: With H hook 8 dcs – 2 ¼”, 4 rows – 2 ¾”
     
  2. Size: 45” x 60”
